IT Job Demand Tied to Big Data, Mobile Computing, ‘Bring Your Own Device’ and Cloud Computing Trends
Fort Lauderdale, FL – January 8, 2013 – Signature Consultants, one of the largest IT staffing firms in the U.S., recently ranked the hottest IT jobs for 2013 based on current job orders and predicted demand from its clients.
“Big Data, mobile computing, BYOD, cloud computing – these technology trends are changing the workplace, and with it, the demand for IT skills and talent to keep enterprises current,” said Pat Quagrello, director of recruiting at Signature. “In addition, we continue to see demand for staff to support infrastructure projects and for web developers with strong .NET and Java skills. Job seekers with skill sets that match up well to these trends will be well-positioned for 2013.”
According to the TechServe Alliance, a collaboration of IT staffing firms, solutions firms, clients, consultants and suppliers, the number of information technology jobs is at an all-time high. Current figures show the number of IT jobs reached 4,198,800 during the month of August, which is up 5,100 from July. Year over year, IT employment has grown 3.36 percent.
Signature predicts the following jobs will be most in-demand for 2013:
- Big Data Jobs: Database administrators and developers, especially those with information security skills; Computer systems analyst; Data warehouse analyst; Business Intelligence architect; Data scientist
- Mobile computing jobs: Mobile application developer; Video game designers; IT security specialist; Help desk/technical support specialist; User experience designer; Web site developers
- ‘Bring Your Own Device’ jobs: Network administrator; Data security analyst

Despite demand for some new positions, Java and .NET developers continue to lead the market in demand, according to Signature’s recruiters. In this position, a consultant with a range of high-level business and technical skills is hired to look at an organization’s overall systems to spot outdated technologies, redundancies and inefficiencies and to offer counsel on cutting costs and improving productivity.

Signature Consultants’ CFO Richard Outram Joins Board of Directors for Step Up for Students

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (November 28, 2012) – Signature Consultants, one of the largest IT staffing firms in the U.S., announced its executive vice president and chief financial officer, Richard Outram, joined the board of directors for Step Up for Students (SUFS) on September 20 of this year.
As a board member, Outram will aid in developing and executing the organization’s strategic plan and goals. His CFO experience spans over 10 years, three of which have been with Signature Consultants. Outram received the support of Signature Consultants’ president and CEO, Jay Cohen, who also shares a passion for children’s education.

Step Up For Students was created to help alleviate the enormous educational challenges faced by children in Florida who live in or near poverty. Charlotte, N.C. (November 12, 2012) – For the fifth year in a row, Signature Consultants, one of the largest IT staffing firms in the U.S., ranked among the top 10 of Charlotte Business Journal’s Best Places to Work. Finishing in 6th place this year in the large business category, the company has now ranked in the top 10 since 2008.

The Charlotte Business Journal ranks companies in three categories: small, medium and large. The rankings are based on detailed, anonymous surveys taken by thousands of employees across all companies. Quantum Workplace, an independent human resources survey company, analyzed the results. Finalists were chosen based on employees’ responses about their companies’ benefits, management, practices and culture.
Signature qualified for the award after being nominated by one of its employees. To further qualify, Signature submitted the required documents and had Quantum Workplace survey its team members in the Charlotte area.
The winners were announced during an awards luncheon at the Charlotte Convention Center on November 9. Signature will be featured along with the other honorees in a special report of the Charlotte Business Journal’s print edition on November 16.
