Job Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a Accountant for an opportunity with a client located in Shorewoood, WI.

Responsibilities:

  • Support EBR (Employee Benefit Reporting) accounts that hold client-controlled assets and provide secondary reviews of those assets
  • Serve as the main point of contact for business line administration and research any client inquiries or issues promptly
  • Complete accrual reviews and facilitate asset set-up corrections related to assigned accounts
  • Generate and analyze reports, as well as research and resolve exceptions prior to established deadlines
  • Perform unitized accounting valuations, including the research of any unusual activity in accounts & confirming treatment of activity for valuation, by the established deadlines and assist with secondary review processes
  • Possess growth mindset and partner with management to improve processes and procedures to transform our business and provide the best customer service possible to our clients
  • Assist with various projects and process improvement initiatives, working with team members and business line partners to meet common goals
  • Respond promptly to inquiries about statements and unitized accounting from the business line or client
  • Assist with the mentorship and training of other team members in regard to department processes


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience
  • One to two years of experience in financial accounting activities
  • Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting, reporting, and analysis
  • Unitized accounting experience
  • Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to analyze data and problem solve
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to be assertive in asking investigative questions to gather more information
  • Comfortable with answering questions about department-related products and processes
  • Demonstrates good judgment and escalates issues to management as needed
  • Displays a strong sense of ownership for their workload and meeting department deadlines
  • Able to succeed in an independent work environment, which may include using procedures or guides to learn different tasks
  • Proactively reach out directly to other team members if additional assistance is needed
