Job Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a Lead Linux Administrator for an opportunity with a client located in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Information Technology projects requiring Linux/Unix system and architecture expertise
  • Work directly with Client, Delivery, and IT teams to ensure Information Technology infrastructure solutions meet the program requirements and schedules
  • Perform a multi-disciplined range of technical systems and application activities
  • Design, install, configure, troubleshoot and provide maintenance of systems hardware, software and components
  • Contribute to the completion of specific programs and projects
  • Represent the organization by providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects and technologies

Requirements/Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and related work experience
  • 5 years of Linux systems and network administration experience
  • Experience managing and automating production enterprise-scale Linux-based web-based services and supporting infrastructure
  • Excellent knowledge of Linux scripting, web development platforms, and related technologies
  • Network Fundamentals and Protocol Understanding
  • CompTIA Linux+, Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA), LPIC 1,2,
  • Excellent knowledge of Linux scripting, web development platforms, and related technologies.
  • Network Fundamentals and Protocol Understanding
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the TCP/IP (IPv4) networking protocol including Ports, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, NFS, TLS, Firewalls, Proxy Servers, Load Balancing, VLANs, SNMP, syslog, etc.
  • Experience with web security and best practices.
  • Experience with Linux backup and restore procedures.
  • Hands on scripting experience with Python or Perl or Bash.
  • Strong Linux CLI, filesystem, and security fundamentals
  • Configuration management tools knowledge (Ansible or Terraform)
  • Creative troubleshooting skills and out-of-the-box thinking
  • Ability and desire to learn various technologies and topics
  • Strong client facing, communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with VMware
  • System monitoring experience
  • Centralized logging experience
  • SAN experience
  • RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Oracle Linux
  • Service Now - Change Management
  • AWS - Compute & Storage Solutions
  • Azure - Compute & Storage Solutions
  • Red Hat - Satellite
  • Active Directory and SUDO integration and centralized management tools and techniques. (e.g. One Identity Safeguard Authentication Services
