Job Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a QA Automation Tester for an opportunity with a client located in Chicago, IL.


Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to story refinement/defining requirements
  • Participate and guide team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle
  • Perform spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
  • Code solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
  • Utilize multiple architectural components (across data, application, and business) in design and development of client requirements
  • Assist team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work
  • Contribute to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance), analyze test reports, identify any test issues/errors, and triage the underlying cause
  • Document and communicate required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality
  • Participate, contribute and can coach team members in the delivery/release (CI-CD) events. e.g. branching timelines, pull requests, issue triage, merge/conflict resolution, release notes

Qualifications:

  • Ability to design and develop manual and automated test plans within an application
  • Performed test plan reviews
  • Previous role as a QA automation professional with 8+ years experience
  • Basic knowledge of automation and continuous delivery practices. Ability to participate in their role and utilize necessary tools with minimal guidance
  • Understands all roles and responsibilities within their team, and uses the tool sets within the software lifecycle
  • Contributes to artifacts needed for governance forums
  • Understands stakeholder expectations and creates regular updates to keep stakeholders informed
  • Understands risks and can apply the controls necessary to mitigate
  • Knows when to escalate risks
  • Actively participates in planning ceremonies
  • Ability to complete a task/story against plan/sprint commitment
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of Agile/Waterfall frameworks
  • Experienced in planning, analyzing, designing and executing UI automation and regression test scenarios using UFT
  • Previous experience creating frameworks using UFT from scratch (either hybrid or data driven)
  • Demonstrable expertise writing and executing SQL queries
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Great team player, with an ability to mentor other team members to enable them to become more established in their role
  • A willingness to get involved at times even when not in the area of expertise
