Job Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a Security & Privacy Technical Writer for an opportunity with a client located in Chesterfield, MO.


  • Evaluates, analyzes and assesses IT & Security related hardware, network, software and IT process controls and compliance
  • Designs, implements, and maintains the Security & Privacy Risk processes ensuring all compliance activities meet obligations and expectations related to data security and full reporting for all requirements for Global risk and audits as well as the company's clients
  • Assists with risk management analysis of the company's technology related vulnerabilities and security threats
  • Ensures the company's associates understand and adheres to necessary procedures to maintain security and compliance
  • Writes, formats, edits, reviews, and proofs procedural and technical information for technical and nontechnical users
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years experience in information systems
  • 1+ years IT audit, controls and regulatory compliance, or related experience
  • Basic knowledge of firewalls, security designs, and secure network environments
  • Intermediate knowledge of broad IT practices, processes and functions
  • Ability to learn and stay current on IT related regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Ability to be flexible when needed, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability
  • Intermediate oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions
  • Intermediate investigative, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Intermediate interpersonal skills
  • Ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously; Ability to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department/team projects
  • Ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives
  • Ability to foster customer service as needed
  • Ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions
  • Basic negotiating and persuasion skills
  • General business knowledge

Technical Requirements:

  • Familiarity with IT and security systems
  • IT Control Frameworks including COBIT, ITIL, ISO 27001/27002
  • Knowledge of regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, GLBA

Preferred Experience Insurance industry knowledge:

  • Knowledge of risk assessment methods
  • Preferred Technical Requirements
  • Knowledge of compliance certifications such as SOC2, PCI, etc.
