Job Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a Senior Scrum Master for an opportunity with a client Concord, CA.


Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the day-to-day activities and ceremonies of multiple Agile teams within a Scrum environment, including daily standups, backlog grooming and refinement, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives
  • Support the Product Owner in their effort to manage, groom and refine, and prioritize the backlog while facilitating a positive team dynamic and alignment regarding scope and priorities for the team
  • Provide transparency with the right metrics (e.g., velocity) and reporting (e.g., burn down) to help the team understand progress vs. plans/goals and identify opportunities for improvement and learning
  • Serve as an expert and trainer of team members in effective, disciplined use of Agile and other tools including Jira and Confluence
  • Identify and resolve team impediments, remove roadblocks and distractions, and mitigate risks and challenges that may impact delivery before they become issues
  • Facilitate or participate in Scrum of Scrum forums with other teams to ensure progress, resolve impediments, and manage dependencies
  • Coach and train the team in Agile practices and be a role model and change agent for the team in embracing the Agile mindset and best practices
  • Create a culture of and the right team dynamic for relentless improvement, continuous learning, and increased maturity in Agile practices
  • Support the company's Agile transformation in providing training, coaching, and sharing of best practices. Help build a community of practice for Scrum Masters and other roles
  • Provide traditional and Agile project and program management support, as required, within an Agile and SOX-compliant environment, including schedule, scope, and budget management, reporting, and risk and issue management


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in various roles directly involved in delivery of technology solutions, including project manager, business analyst, developer, and/or QA engineer roles
  • Three or more years of experience as a Scrum Master serving multiple teams, preferably in multiple environments and companies undergoing Agile transformations
  • Four or more years of experience within an Agile delivery environment, preferably in a scaled Agile environment
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, Lean, XP, and other Agile frameworks, practices, and best practices Demonstrated ability to share this knowledge and provide Agile coaching and training to Agile teams highly preferred
  • Demonstrated servant leader mindset with ability to build, mentor and cultivate self-organizing, high performing Agile teams
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and improvement and the ability to motivate teams to embrace the same
  • Strong and effective facilitator with ability to guide teams through resolution of conflict and a commitment to identify and resolve impediments impacting the team's progress
  • Strong knowledge of Agile metrics and the ability to track, report, and present metrics in various visual formats leveraging available Agile tools
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, team building, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business, or another technical field or equivalent work experience
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Practitioner (CSP), Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), and/or other advanced Scrum/Agile certifications
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, and Visio. Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and OneNote highly preferred
  • Highly proficient with Agile tools including Jira, Confluence, and supplemental tools such as Aha


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in in the Financial Services industry highly preferred. Some knowledge of Investment and Wealth Management, the Financial Advisor role and how technology can be leveraged to support their practice a plus
  • Prior experience in roles contributing to a Digital transformation and the delivery of next generation platforms and applications highly desired
  • Experience serving in other roles on Agile teams such as Product Owner, Developer, QA Engineer a plus
  • Experience as a Project Manager in Agile, Hybrid, and/or waterfall-based environments with skills in traditional project management techniques around scope, schedule, and budget preferred
