System Engineer - Windows

Job Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a System Engineer - Windows for an opportunity with a client located in Boca Raton, FL.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and administer production environment Active Directory domain, DNS, and group policy in accordance with best practice

• Deploying and configuring Windows Server based operating systems in the data center including additional Windows features and roles such as IIS, RADIUS, RDS, DNS, File Services, according to defined infrastructure standards

• Backup Linux administration

• Perform analysis of competing technologies and products

• Fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position that performs moderately complex technical analysis, design and system development using appropriate technologies to support department and company objectives

• Assesses available technologies to meet needs, and then define technical specifications and designs

• Builds, maintains and support Active Directory, Microsoft Hyper-V, System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), Quest

• Develop UNIX/Windows scripts for system components

• Reviews documents of others

• Establishes successful working and support relationships with cross-functional leaders and staff third party vendors

Job Knowledge/Skills:

• Strong knowledge of IT, desktop/server, security practices and networking concepts

• Working knowledge of IT and programming concepts (programming not required)

• Experience with internal IT controls (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley and SAS 70)

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organizational skills; willing to coordinate the work of others

• Must be adept in use of MS Office, Visio, Project, internet, and e-mail

• Willingness to travel as needed (20% travel per month may occasionally be required)

• Willingness to perform keyboard intensive work 90% of the time

• Willingness to be on call, 7x24x365 (less pre-approved exceptions) and attend to technical issues outside of normal business hours

• Working knowledge of standards, architectures, technology frameworks, solutions and best practices

Education and Experience:

• MCSE or equivalent experience is required

• 3+ years of experience in client server technologies and application support

• Citrix CCEA preferred

• VCP Certification
