Job Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a Web Engineer for an opportunity with a client located in Miami, FL.


  • Research, design, develop, operate, and maintain services and applications including backend services, contracts, and native mobile for the client
  • Demonstrate a deep knowledge of how technical contracts work and provide process suggestions for web teams to help build contracts
  • Design, develop and maintain customized services, based on business and technical requirements established by the team leader using client coding standards including IT Standards for Security & Compliance
  • Support highly complex systems and assist with level 2 support for enterprise solutions
  • Responsible for the development of new services, including mobile technology
  • Exercise significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method to accomplish tasks and achieve objectives
  • Apply advanced industry and subject matter knowledge to complex business issues
  • Coach and assist other engineers into better practices via code reviews and pair programming
  • Serve as a backup for leading team deployments as required
  • Review and flag security issues in peer code
  • Provide after-hours problem resolution during on-call rotation period
  • Manage ticket life cycle by monitoring, tracking, and closing resolved tickets
  • Deliver assigned application development tasks and projects
  • Respond to trouble tickets and calls related to Applications and Services
  • Partner with vendors and/or web teams to develop POCs for new functionalities
  • Ensures key performance indicators and interconnections with other systems are operational and do not exceed established thresholds
  • Search for issues and provide solutions to prevent problems from occurring in area of responsibility
  • Identify potential escalations and alert management
  • Develop superior and innovative team solutions to complex problems
  • Maintain a brand-agnostic skillset to create and develop solutions that can interact with any front end or back end application
  • Prepare detailed specifications from which new systems or major enhancements will be developed
  • Manage highly complex and high-risk changes to critical business systems
  • Perform complete testing of Web services, engaging users as necessary
  • Frequently contribute to the development of new ideas and methods
  • Demonstrate technical leadership and exerts influence outside of immediate team
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to other team members
  • Frequently represent the organization to external customers and vendors
  • Review and develop operational standards
  • Maintain technical expertise in most areas of Web technologies, databases, and computer hardware
  • Provide input and edit if needed to technical documentation
  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned
  • Troubleshoot common and complex system issues, assist other groups in troubleshooting interface issues
  • Provide data logs and analysis to other teams or vendors
  • Support infrastructure teams in the maintenance of all web or mobile based services
  • Designates work to other members of the team
  • Provides technical leadership and time/resource estimates for assigned projects
  • Proactively seek opportunities to serve in leadership roles


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or related field of study or any equivalent combination of relevant background, skills, and experience


  • Minimum 6 years of experience with relational databases and developing systems under the MVC Framework
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Web technologies in structured environment with increasing levels of responsibility and complexity
  • Minimum 3 years leading other software developers, designing, and architecting solutions including mobile technologies


  • Advanced knowledge with Scala, Mobile tools, Apache, HTML, XML, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, Drupal, JSON and MySQL
  • Strong knowledge of the Front-End frameworks: Angular, VueJs, React
  • Significant knowledge of client server and internet systems architectures
  • Experience maintaining and/or developing high-performance systems
  • Creates well designed, reusable objects and understands the benefits of the various programming languages
  • Possesses demonstrated work experience with more than one relational database management system
  • Ability to think beyond code to architecture and user experience
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with a strong commitment to excellent customer service
  • Strong initiative, priority setting, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to lead, motivate, influence, and generate enthusiasm among team members
  • Ability to work on-call work rotations to provide after-hours support
