Job Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a Windows System Administrator for an opportunity with a client located in Minneapolis, MN. Our client is looking for the ideal candidate to maintain, upgrade and manage SPIRE software and firmware. In addition, this role will provide support with local and remote end-user license and equipment tracking. The goal of this role is to ensure that our technology infrastructure is secure and runs smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Configure and manage Windows operating systems and install/load operating system software
  • Ensure only approved software is installed
  • Manage the secure deployment of images based on CIS best practices
  • Deploy automated patching
  • Work with the security team to remediate software and firmware vulnerabilities, discovered during scans, within the SLA determined by the Vulnerability Standard
  • Accurately diagnose failed patches; report on risks and key performance indicators
  • Perform vulnerability scans on systems after changes and remediate before implementation
  • Maintain Active Directory environments and ensure correct security groups are applied to assets
  • Deploy and revise GPOs according to security audit findings
  • Act as point of contact for asset management efforts
  • Track End-of-Life systems and hardware
  • Maintain Domain Name Services (DNS) and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) databases
  • Maintain secure network protocols including HTTPS, sFTP, FTPs, SMTP, LDM, and others as required (DHCP servers, (DNS) databases)
  • Perform housekeeping functions, including the deletion of orphaned processes, backing up critical files and maintaining recovery processes
  • Coordinate with the Information Security Director to create new or modify existing technical security documents including installation and configuration procedures
  • Assist in the maintenance of technical documents and diagrams for security devices and ensure all systems meet current SPIRE security standards
  • Assist with network security problems as required
  • Act as the point of contact for SPIRE Incident Response Team and notify the appropriate personnel whenever a computer security incident occurs
  • Perform periodic performance reporting to support strategic planning


Qualifications

  • 2+ years of financial institution or other regulated industry experience
  • 5+ years of information security and information technology experience
  • Experience with PDQ, SCCM and Qualys vulnerability management tools
  • Experience with Active Directory and building and applying Group Policy Objects
  • Experienced in the ISO 27000 Family Framework
  • Experience using PowerShell to automate tasks
  • Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
  • Flexible to work outside of normal business hours remotely to help critical issues


Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience as an IT System Administrator or similar role
  • 2+ Years managing a windows domain, server, virtual environment, and SAN/NAS storage
  • Proficient with vSphere and Active Directory
  • Professional certification: e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Security+
